Quality improvement

We strengthen quality of care at all levels of the health system

For over 30 years, Options has worked with governments and civil society across Africa, Asia and the Middle East to drive higher quality care and create an environment where all people are supported to access the services they need.

We work with partners to:

  • Strengthen coordination between government, civil society, health users and providers, to identify challenges and solutions to delivering high-quality health services.
  • Design tools and approaches that measure, track and improve quality across health systems, and include the perspectives of health service users and marginalised groups.
  • Design accreditation systems, training curricula and on-going mentoring, coaching and support so health workers have the skills and confidence to do their jobs well.
  • Develop and strengthen policies, budgets and plans for improved quality of care, ensuring that the necessary inputs such as equipment, commodity and infrastructure are in place for delivery of safe, high-quality services.
  • Address the social norms which limit access to health and prevent all people realising their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
