In this mixed-methods study, maternal and neonatal health service utilization and delivery data for three Nigerian states were obtained from the National Health Management Information System, covering full calendar years from 2017–2020. Data were assessed and triangulated with key informant interviews (KIIs) conducted with female service users (n=15) and non-users (n=9) and healthcare workers (n=15), held in March and April 2021. Four years of data were compared to identify seasonal trends and enable the isolation of novel patterns during the pandemic.
