Dr. Jeremiah Makula

Deputy Regional Lead, WISH

Jeremiah is a medical doctor and public health specialist based in Tanzania. Currently Jeremiah serves as Deputy Regional Lead for the UKAid-funded Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) programme, and provides technical leadership to WISH teams across Africa, with direct support to the programme in Tanzania, Malawi and Uganda. Prior to that he was Country Lead for Options Tanzania Limited, providing overall country leadership and ensuring high performance of project activities, management all programme staff and ensuring sustainability of the country programme.

Jeremiah’s technical expertise lies in sexual reproductive health and rights and quality of care, having held a number of roles with Marie Stopes Tanzania, prior to Options.  He has also served as an Assistant Lecturer for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hubert Kariuki Memorial University and has a master’s degree in Public Health.
