Options at the FIGO2021 World Congress

From quality of care and universal health coverage to future pandemic preparedness, find out how Options is participating in the FIGO World Congress.

21 October 2021

Options is joining the FIGO World Congress 2021 (October 21-28, 2021), the leading global academic event in the specialties of gynaecology and obstetrics. The conference, which is hosted by the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, convenes over 8,000 delegates in the field of women’s health and policy to propose concrete solutions to the important challenges in women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.

We have joined the World Health Organisation for a panel discussion on ‘MPDSR during COVID-19: What did we learn and how to be ready for the next public health emergency at country level?’ If you are registered to attend FIGO2021, you can watch the session anytime in the conference library (search for MPDSR).

This year’s FIGO conference is a chance for us to celebrate health workers and support them to use data to advocate for a work environment that enables them to provide the best quality of care – so that mothers and babies survive and thrive.

It is also the right time to discuss the pandemic as a chance for to rethink and break free from this past, and to make sure more resilient for future health emergencies. We believe that universal health care is a fundamental part of this journey and must place gender equity at its heart.
