Options' Board of Directors are responsible for setting the objectives and strategic direction for the company. Members of Options' Board of Directors are:
Simon Cooke, Chair
Simon Cooke is the CEO of Marie Stopes International. Simon joined Marie Stopes International in 2013 with more than 20 years of international management, marketing and sales experience in a range of developed and developing countries including North Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Nordics, the Gulf, the Levant and Iran. Before coming to MSI he was CEO of SuperMax, a personal care product marketing organisation based in the Middle East. He has also held senior leadership positions at both Procter and Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser.
Philip D Harvey
Philip Harvey is the president of DKT International which he founded in 1989. He also co-founded Marie Stopes International and Population Services International with Dr Tim Black. Mr Harvey has been championing the benefits of social marketing for over three decades. Earlier in his career, he served as deputy director of CARE's programme in India.
Timothy M Rutter, FRCS
Timothy Rutter practiced as an obstetrician and gynaecologist for over 25 years. He has in-depth knowledge of the international context, having occupied senior medical positions with the Government of Thailand, the Canadian Government and Christian Aid. He was appointed Executive Director at the Transnational Birth Control Programme in 1973. In addition to his professional work, Mr Rutter has undertaken post-graduate specialisations in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at St George’s Hospital Medical School and as Gynaecology and Obstetrics Senior House Officer at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital. He has also held lectureships at four leading research institutions, notably Universidad de Cadiz and Universidad Autonamia de Barcelona.
Jo Elms, Managing Director of Options
Jo Elms became managing director of Options in 2013 bringing insights gained over a career of more than 20 years in international development. Jo held leadership positions in a range of organisations and has substantial experience of developing strategies and partnerships across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.  Since joining Options in 2006, Jo directed Options’ portfolio of international programmes and has ensured the growth of Options has been combined with high standards of delivery.
