Sutton and Merton Contraception Services Needs Assessment
In May 2009, Options UK undertook a public involvement and contraceptive needs assessment project for Sutton and Merton community services. A large element of this project involved engaging with clinicians and as ‘key informants’. The interviews were conducted through telephone interviews and during clinic site visits. The results provided an in-depth insight into the key issues that clinical staff face in their day-to-day work in providing contraceptive care across the borough. The findings of the clinician engagement were triangulated with service mapping analysis and quantitative and qualitative data from patients and the general public in order to provide an evidence-informed platform to launch enhancements in local services.
