 In January 2009, NHS Camden commissioned Options UK to undertake a
Maternity Needs Assessment for the borough. This assessment was
undertaken by engaging with service providers, local practitioners,
representatives from community and voluntary sectors as well users and
potential users of Camden’s maternity services. The assessment provided
evidence that will help the PCT better understand the current model of
delivery and needs of the local population. This will enable them to
make informed strategic and operational commissioning decisions about
the nature, content and location of services that will best reduce
health inequality and help meet expectations from national policy and
guidance. |
