The UK programme of

Engaging with Public and Patients

In accordance with the NHS Constitution, capturing the experiences of service users and engaging the public in the design, evaluation and monitoring of services are core drivers within the NHS Operating Framework and is one of the key competencies specified within World Class Commissioning.

Options UK recognises the need for health and social care organisations to engage with citizens to co-produce better health and well-being outcomes. We have extensive experience working with a wide range of users including the ‘general public’, asylum seekers and refugees, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender men and women, people with learning disabilities, sex workers (male and female), young people, people from a range of ethnic identities, travellers and Gypsies, and prisoners.

Options UK can:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient and public surveys and analysis using an array of in-depth and participatory methods
  • Help you engage with high priority and hard-to-reach groups in a meaningful way
  • Help you capture real-time feedback from patients and service users
  • Assist you in making best use of patient feedback to drive real improvements in the quality of services
  • Conduct impact assessments using consultation processes that engage the local population, existing and potential service users
