In early 2009, Options UK undertook a needs analysis in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The ultimate aim of this analysis was to identify gaps, needs and overlaps in the current delivery of sexual health and sexual health related services. Options UK undertook in depth geo-demographic analysis, reviewed sexual health data, engaged with users from target populations at higher risk of STIs, HIV and unintended pregnancy, mapped services and service user pathways, and spoke with providers to create a comprehensive ‘gap analysis’ map, highlighting areas of high and low priority need. This information was used to inform the development of a new sexual health and HIV strategy and to assist the PCT in determining the location and scope of a newly established Clinicenta site. |
