Senior Programme Manager
The main responsibility of the Senior Programme Manager (SPM) is to manage the successful delivery of a portfolio of programmes with a budget of up to £20 million a year that improve the health of women and children in around a dozen countries in Africa and Asia.
Whilst managing a team of two to three Programme Managers and Programme Assistants, the SPM will oversee and ensure high quality outputs from their team members who manage the programmes on a day-to-day basis. The SPM is responsible for overseeing programme finances, whilst collaborating with other teams and senior staff on financial management and bid development. The SPM is also responsible for budget management which needs to be completed to a high level of detail, timeliness and accuracy. Client relationship management is a crucial element of the SPM role.
The successful candidate will be confident and able to manage their own workload. They will be collaborative but independent, as well as accurate, productive, willing and flexible. Experience in international development, in the health sector, in financial and people management and in team-work are all requirements of this job. Experience with USAID is desirable. The person will need to travel to country programmes several times a year.
