The main objective of the Programme Assistant is to take an active role in supporting the Programme Managers on long-term projects. You will do this by leading on your own short-term assignments within this, including negotiating assignment budgets, sourcing consultants as well as other logistical support. As the Programme Assistant you will be proactive in arranging travel and accommodation logistics for the PM team and Options staff as a whole. You will also be responsible for supporting the PM team in documenting information and supporting knowledge management.
You will have a background in or desire to develop your knowledge of current international public health issues. You will have exposure to working in an International Development organisation or in a fast-moving and complex environment. You will have the ability to manage multiple tasks confidently and prioritise a demanding workload. Good verbal and written communication skills as well as good numerical skills are essential. The Programme Assistant will be highly proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and have experience organising travel logistics, including flights, visas and accommodation.
