E4A-MamaYe National Coordinator

We are seeking a member of the staff to lead a new programme as a National Coordinator, based in Nairobi. You will provide technical support and manage the delivery of E4A-MamaYe Kenya activities, as well as overseeing the implementation of E4A-MamaYe in Nairobi and Bungoma Counties.
Responsibilities: 
  • Represent E4A-MamaYe with national and county level Ministry of Health; CSOs, including other FP Advocacy Gates grantees; media; and other partners
  • Engage with and build/strengthen E4A-MamaYe relationships with RMNCAH advocacy partners; this may include coordinating implementation of E4A-MamaYe supported events and production of materials
  • Provide support to strengthen the capacity of key Kenyan CSOs to engage effectively in the Global Financing Facility (GFF) country platform and to engage in health budget advocacy
  • Contribute to strengthening analysis of MPDSR data; and costing and packaging evidence to support advocacy and accountability efforts in Nairobi and Bungoma Counties
  • Support and coordinate RNMCH advocacy strategies/activities nationally and oversee County advocacy activities pre and post-election aimed at increasing resource allocation for health
Person specification: 
  • Bachelor’s in sociology, anthropology, social statistics or a related subject; postgraduate degree in public health or other relevant subject
  • Substantial experience in RNMCH programme implementation at facility and community levels
  • Significant experience of engagement with government at County level and/or a background working within government
  • Experience in analysing and presenting data for use in decision-making, action, accountability and/ or advocacy
  • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with technical and non-technical partners at multiple levels, to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Strong understanding of government work planning and budgeting cycles
